IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) – Environment, Security and Value

IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) is a large part of our business. It makes us unique as the only provider in the Nordics that handles the entire lifecycle of IT equipment in-house. Our international business model, which is focused on circular IT services, are highly appreciated because we offer effective IT services and we are aiming to make a real difference for the environment.

Environment

Did you know that E-waste is referred to by the UN as the world’s fastest growing solid waste stream? If we continue the current path, the volumes will grow from 50 million tons per year; to be double by 2050. Did you also know that by reusing a modern mobile smartphone, instead of producing a new one, reduces global emissions equal to 61.7 kg CO2?

Foxway aims to be a driving force for digitalization while decreasing our carbon footprints. We want to give devices a 2nd, 3rd or even a 4th lifecycle and make a positive contribution to the industry. We can prolong the lifetime of business computers up to eight years by normal use and reduce production of new ones. At the same time, we reduce the E-waste flow.

IT assets which have reached end of their life will get recycled in an environmentally friendly way through certified partners. Our circular business model and responsibility begins from where devices and mobile phones are produced and ends when it has reached the end of its life.

Security

2021 was a year with a high volume of recorded data breaches, and there is no reason to believe that the numbers will decrease in the coming years. The figures are not only related to vulnerability in the daily use of technology and IT equipment, but also to improper deletion of sensitive information in the end of the product’s lifecycle. This includes desktops and laptops, servers, smartphones, tablets and other storage media. With Foxway’s ITAD services, we can help local and international companies to retire securely wipe and keep track of IT assets on a regular basis.

Value

During the Covid pandemic many employees had to work from home. The hybrid work environment seems to be here to stay, which has increased the need for portable computers and devices. With an all-over reduced production on top of this, the market experienced long lead times for new equipment. In addition, Intel stated that they expect chip shortages to last into 2024.

To reduce equipment shortages, IT equipment produced must contain more sustainable material. Also, if our society adjusts its expectations, then more people will be happy to use high-quality second and third life equipment.

With our circular business model and strong partnerships with world-leading vendors, we guarantee you will receive the strong user experience even if the device is considered “old”. We can also help you sell IT equipment and give you the right revenue for your old IT assets.
