The Need Came from the Classroom
Ängsdal Schools was already using Mac and iPad. The question was therefore not whether to introduce more devices, but how the existing tools could be used to create value in the classroom.
Working together with school leaders and educators, Foxway provided training in Apple Classroom. The focus was on how teachers could use the tool to structure lessons, reduce distractions and help students stay focused on the right task.
The training was complemented by tailored learning materials. These gave educators the support they needed to put their new knowledge into practice and continue applying it in their daily work.
Following the initiative, teachers felt they had gained greater control over the digital learning environment and were better equipped to use Apple’s tools in an intentional and pedagogically effective way.
A Technical Environment That Supports the Teaching Approach
As the pedagogical use of the technology began to gain momentum, the next question was how the technical infrastructure could support the schools’ way of working.
Ängsdal Schools had been using Mac and iPad for many years, but the underlying infrastructure needed to be modernised to fully support the Apple ecosystem.
Together with Foxway, the schools began developing their device deployment infrastructure. The work included Apple School Manager, Jamf School, automated device enrolment, device management and identity management.
This made it possible to manage devices more efficiently and improved the schools’ ability to use Apple Classroom as an integrated part of teaching.
